All our Inner Axle Seal Installers are of necessity made to
fit a specific brand and part number of seal.
Inner axle seals are among the most difficult of
any seal to install due to very tight fits and
restricted access. To work successfully,
each installer must be precision machined to
match a specific seal design. You can buy
the seals from us, the vehicle dealer, or
anyone else who supplies original equipment
parts, but whatever you do, always use our
installers with the correct seal.
As a rule, aftermarket Inner Axle Shaft Seals as
purchased from parts stores are

Dana 44 axles and all GM trucks with the GM 10 bolt
solid front axle. This tool does not have a
depth stop making it suitable for use on both Dana 44
and GM 10 bolt applications, so you will need to check
the depth of the old seals before removing them.
GM always used a CR seal for the 10 bolt, but many Dana
axles were originally equipped with an NOK seal which
Spicer has replaced with the CR design. (Also see

is at the proper depth, the rear face of the tool will

A Note About Interchanging Seals:
Whenever possible, it is recommended you use the
original seal design, however, it is often possible to
consolidate multiple tools and seals to one size.
Due to the many axle variations it is impossible for us
to state any particular seal will ALWAYS replace another
seal. The following list is provided for reference
only of possible substitutions.
