CV Seal
QU40704
Press-On Outer Dust Seal for Spicer Type Driveshaft CV Joints
QU40704 Press On Outer Dust Seal for Spicer-Type Double-Carden Driveshaft Constant Velocity Joints. This seal helps protect the CV Centering Ball from road splash and should be replaced any time the u-joints are changed. It is a bit under 2" in diameter and just over 3/4" high. The seal is pressed onto the Ball Stud Tube Yoke (The CV yoke welded to the shaft). Over time, these seals are subject to dry rot and cracking. Replacement is recommended any time the CV joint is rebuilt. This seal is primarily found on late 1980's to current CV shafts with non-greaseable CV Balls, however it is also used on late model greaseable shafts such as those found in Dodge Ram trucks starting in 2005. Made in U.S.A. $9.97

® Service Tip: These seals are a bit tricky to press onto the Ball Stud Tube Yoke as they are a fairly tight fit, but the seal flange you press against is not very wide. You will need to use a piece of pipe or our QT4002 CV Seal Installer.
